Client: Friuli Innovazione, Udine - 2009
Friuli Innovazione, in cooperation with the University of Udine, with this initiative once again wanted to bring the research world closer to entrepreneurial realities, in particular to the chair sector where the main actors are the micro-enterprises.
The project, in which six local companies has been involved, has had as a main objective the creation of a totally regional supply chain; this supply chain is seen as aggregation of existing capacities represented by artisan companies each with a well-defined competence in the field of woodworking.
By combining the quality and originality of the regional sector in a unique production chain, we have therefore come up with the design of a final product made entirely within the Chair District.
The purpose of the study is to create chairs that have a decisive and different aesthetic approach, even using common parts.
The seat becomes a fixed and characteristic part of the project and through various types of backrests and legs, very different products are born.
Combining in addition to the different forms, also different materials, the resulting chairs, can be inserted in various categories, from modern to classic.
The models presented are only a small example of how much the aesthetics of the product can vary by appropriately mixing the choices of the components.
